The Skill Mill's 6th Birthday

The Skill Mill has just turned 6 years old. To celebrate the occasion, a birthday party was held at Northern Design Centre Gateshead.

In 6 years, The Skill Mill has employed 127 young people. Just 15 of those have been re-convicted. This means our re-conviction rate is 12%, compared with the national average of 67%. This demonstrates that design-thinking and co-creation through effective partnerships can result in innovative solutions to social and environmental problems and make significant savings to the state.
