Keep Britain Tidy's 'Love Parks Week' is an annual campaign which celebrates parks, green spaces, and the dedicated workers that look after them all year round. This year, Love Parks Week runs from 28 July to 6 August.
The Skill Mill is a multi-award-winning social enterprise which provides employment opportunities for young people aged between sixteen and eighteen. We employ only ex-offenders, actively reducing reoffending whilst increasing engagement, participation, employability and educational levels of the young people to increase their life chances. The Skill Mill’s primary activities focus on environmental management and improvement works. Tree planting, habitat building, vegetation cleanups and litter picking are just a few of the activities which are carried out across our teams. We are committed to connecting people to nature, and promote the protection of green spaces.
In addition, The Skill Mill is the UK lead for World Cleanup Day, which is a global event mobilising citizens, community groups, corporations and government bodies to participate in a day of action to highlight the issue of waste and especially single use plastic. We support the organisation of multiple park cleanups.
