The Inspiration Behind The Skill Mill

You may already know about the great work The Skill Mill does and how we've helped hundreds of young people find permanent employment and learn valuable transferable skills.

We've been working hard since 2013, but do you know how it all began? Managing Director David Parks originally founded The Skill Mill in Newcastle Upon Tyne. He wanted to create opportunities for young people that been through the justice system, in order to get them back into work and combat the sigma surrounding employing someone with a criminal record.

David used partnership that he had already formed with the Environment Agency and other local companies to build the foundation of The Skill Mill and take it around the UK to help as many young people as possible.
