We are delighted to announce that The Skill Mill has once again been listed in the NatWest SE100 Index for 2024.
The index was created by Pioneers Post in partnership with NatWest Social & Community Capital, NatWest's independent social investment charity. It celebrates UK social enterprises in all their wonderful diversity, with the top 100 judged on a wide range of criteria – from the growth and sustainability of their businesses to the innovation and resilience they have demonstrated and the social impact they have delivered. The Skill Mill is a multi-award-winning social enterprise that provides employment opportunities for young people aged between sixteen and eighteen. We employ only ex-offenders, actively reducing reoffending while increasing engagement, participation, employability, and educational levels among these young people to enhance their life chances.
Over the past ten years, we have worked with over 450 young people, and less than 8% have reoffended, compared to the national reoffending rate of 63.8% (England and Wales) for young people under 18, according to Youth Offending statistics.
